Nutrition Tip: If you are looking to shed a few pounds, writing down what you eat is an important habit to have. Journaling can make you more aware of what you are eating and less likely to overeat or eat the "wrong" foods.
Services
Initial Consultation: Your current eating pattern will be explored and recommendations made to help you achieve your nutritional goals. Meal planning is discussed and specific recommendations are made to help you know exactly what types of food and how much you should be eating. Skills are taught such as accurately estimating portion sizes, journaling, menu planning, and healthy eating out, among many others. An initial consultation is an hour appointment.
Metabolism Testing: The first step in any nutrition program is knowing how your body uses the foods that you eat for energy. Your resting metabolic rate can be tested using the BodyGem device. BodyGem is the only metabolism testing apparatus that has been independently validated against the best available standard for metabolism testing. Understanding your metabolism is key to knowing how much to eat to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. A metabolism test requires 30 minutes.
Food Record and Recipe Analysis: Not sure if your diet is providing you with the essential nutrients that you need? Want to know how many calories, saturated fat and sodium are in grandma’s famous meatloaf? Your food records and recipes can be analyzed using NutriBase 6 nutrition software. Help is also given to make grandma’s meatloaf a healthier meal.
Medical Nutrition Therapy: Nutrition impacts health in many different ways. Your particular health problems will be addressed, and nutritional recommendations made to best manage your medical condition. Whether it is allergies, heart disease, gastrointestinal maladies, or diabetes, a nutritional solution can be provided.
Body Composition Analysis: Success cannot be measured by body weight alone. Body fat can be measured and health risks assessed using skinfold and body circumference measurements. Measurements are taken in a private setting.
Sport Nutrition Consultation: Nutrition impacts athletic performance. What you eat and how you eat are important to be at the top of your game. Your current eating and drinking practices will be evaluated, and recommendations will be made specific to your sport to help you achieve athletic success.
Group Classes/Corporate Seminars: Group classes and corporate seminars can be arranged as needed. Small classes can be held at the On Nutrition location. Classes and seminars can also be held at other private locations.
